CPCLL 20TH ANNIVERSARY STICKERS
This project was created for the Committee to Promote Chinese Language Learning (CPCLL), a sub-organisation under Singapore’s Ministry of Education. The objective was to design mascot-led sticker assets for both digital and print applications, helping the organisation engage teachers and students across Singapore schools through playful, culturally relevant communication. The final deliverables included static stickers, animated motion stickers, and a Chinese New Year dragon mascot campaign.
Year :
2023
Service :
Illustration, Motion Graphics
Client :
Ministry of Education, Singapore & CPCLL
Project Duration :
6 months

Problem :
CPCLL required engaging communication assets to better connect with younger audiences and strengthen brand recognition across educational campaigns. However, the organisation did not have an existing mascot system or character-based visual identity that could be used consistently across digital and printed platforms.

Solution :
To address this, I proposed a mascot-led sticker system featuring custom male and female characters inspired by CPCLL staff uniforms and brand references. Alongside these mascots, I designed a festive Chinese New Year dragon motion sticker set incorporating culturally symbolic elements for campaign engagement.
These assets were developed for:
WhatsApp and Telegram stickers
Printed merchandise
Festive campaign communication

Challenge :
A key challenge was balancing playful illustration with brand consistency while designing within the limitations of small-format sticker systems. The characters needed to remain expressive, recognisable, and culturally appropriate while adapting to both motion and print outputs.
The process involved iterative sketching, refinement, and adapting stakeholder feedback into final production-ready assets.

Summary :
This project strengthened my skills in illustration, motion design, and client-focused visual communication. By combining mascot design, animation, and culturally relevant storytelling, I developed a flexible asset system that supports both festive campaigns and long-term brand engagement for CPCLL.
